Prompted by the importance of selfies in contemporary digital culture, I explore how the perception of the self is influenced by digital imagery.  I create an interplay between the materiality of algorithmic representations of selfies in origami shapes and digital imagery to suggest the way subjectivity is formed and deformed in digital networks and to question the machine’s problematic introspective gaze into our emotional landscape.
